What happen to my laptop adaptor? Something like burned.OMG. Why this happen to me. ?

Made a visit to the my favorite Computer tech shop and looking for the new laptop adaptor. Been using my  old laptop adaptor for almost 5 years.Yeah,5 years.Believe me or not,its really sad when something that been used for long time and suddenly its malfunction.

Looking for the original Acer laptop adaptor 19V -3.42A.But ,i had been informed by the sales person that the adaptor that i look for is out of stock.Its takes a week for the stock to come.The sales person suggest me to try an universal adaptor.
